I’ve been lagging on posting due to my hectic schedule (which did involve the baking of two new cookie flavors, an order of 40 Hello Kitty Birthday Cupcakes, and a whole lot more). Aside from baking, I’m spending these next few days in California.
However, there’s one problem when you pack boots, long-sleeves, jeans, and scarfs for California weather-- That usually means that ‘beach’ trips will be absent. (hah) Here I am at Peet’s Coffee in what started as a cold, overcast day, into a completely perfect warm, ‘beachy’ day. Note to self: Bring a change of wardrobe the next time I come down to the beach... I need out of these jeans and into my bikini, tankini, or simply stated, shorts.
Anyways, I hope I can post a few ‘on the road’ photos and perhaps open up some doors of places to go/things to do here in California aside from the typical beach day.
For starters, Peet’s Coffee @ Manhattan Beach! At this point, the Starbucks across the street should just pack up, close down, and relocate. Peet's is packed! My favorite drink is the Zebra Hot Chocolate. Not too special but I adore the leaf-like designs they draw into each cup of coffee and hot chocolate. These baristas are on their A game, and what’s best of all is the people you meet here. I’ve seen nearly 200 people wave in and out of Peet’s and I have yet to notice anyone who looks to not be enjoying themselves. Happy people, happy kids, happy pets, and a happy world here on the west coast. So, if you fly into LAX, make the 10 minute drive down to Manhattan Beach and sit down with a cup of Zebra Hot Chocolate, people-gaze, and take in the sweet California sun! It's worth it. Until later.
